Product Description:

The Arista QDD-400G-DR4 is a 400Gb/s Quad Small Form Factor Pluggable Double Density (QSFP-DD) optical transceiver module designed for 500-meter reach over single-mode fiber (SMF).

  • Transmit Path: Converts 8 input channels of 50Gb/s (PAM4) electrical data into 4 parallel optical signals operating at 100Gb/s per channel (aggregate 400Gb/s). It utilizes a quad-channel EML driver and four EMLs operating at a 1310nm center wavelength.
  • Receive Path: Converts 4 parallel optical input signals (100Gb/s per channel, aggregate 400Gb/s) into 8 output channels of 50Gb/s (PAM4) electrical data. It employs a photodiode (PD) array connected to a quad-channel Transimpedance Amplifier (TIA).
  • Signal Processing: Integrates a DSP-based gearbox that transforms 8 channels of 25GBaud PAM4 signals into 4 channels of 50GBaud PAM4 signals. The DSP also includes an 8-channel retimer and Forward Error Correction (FEC) functionality.
  • Compliance: The electrical interface meets IEEE 802.3bs and QSFP-DD MSA specifications. The optical interface complies with the QSFP-DD MSA and utilizes an MPO-12 connector.
